A generational, family operated winery, Woodward Canyon was established in 1981 and was the second winery in the Walla Walla Valley. The Smalls were instrumental in the process of obtaining federal approval of the Walla Walla Valley Appellation in 1984. The winery has consistently produced premium, age-worthy Bordeaux-style reds and chardonnays.
The winery’s Walla Walla Valley Estate Vineyard, planted in 1976, and the Champoux Vineyard, planted in 1972 within the Horse Heaven Hills appellation and in which the winery is a partner, are the primary sources for grapes.
