Seghesio Cortina Zinfandel 2017

Grapes for the 'Cortina' Zinfandel were sourced from estate owned Chen's vineyard, planted in 1972 in Dry Creek Valley. Open top fermenters were used and regular punch downs were carried out. The total maceration time was 8-12 days and the wine finished alcoholic fermentation and underwent malolactic fermentation in barrel. The wine was then aged for 11 months - 75% in French oak barrels (of which 20% were new) and 25% in neutral American oak barrels. It delivers plush fruit aromas of black cherries, plums and a hint of white pepper. It is soft and full-bodied on the palate, with great concentration and refreshing acidity.
